Data Capture & Stakeholder Engagement

Understanding the ‘As-Is’ position is essential in any change / workplace project, GenNorth work with clients to capture both quantitative data and qualitative insight, to help build a picture of ‘Where You Are Now’.

Our user-centric approach is centred around the physical environment, organisational culture, operational due diligence, workplace technology and tools and social value.

The approach to each client or project will vary, however there are a number of proven techniques we adopt to help gather information about your organisation. The following provides a brief overview of some of our methodology for gathering and triangulating information:

  • Data can be gathered from larger staff cohorts via on-line questionnaires and application based technology

  • Observational and ethnographical studies provide us with realtime data around utilisation and how space is being used

  • A database of quantitative information is populated and analysed which can support our understanding or headcount, team structure, general activities, line management, use of technology, use of space and team adjacencies

  • This is followed by informal interviews with a representative sample of staff across all areas and all levels of seniority

  • Workshops and group sessions will also be used to gather operational information, this may be process clinics or facilitated group discussions

  • All existing relevant data will be gathered such as previous surveys, access data, meeting rooms and booking system information etc.

  • Non-sector specific benchmarking including adjacent services to ensure outcomes are at the forefront of the thinking towards the collaborative future workplace and learning environment for each client.
