Net Zero Carbon Strategy & Carbon Baselines

Development of Client or Project specific Net Zero Carbon Strategy based on reducing existing Carbon Footprint or new Carbon Baseline over a required period. Carbon baselines are generated for Scope 1 ,2 and some Scope 3 elements based on Client consultations and estate energy and water data.

Most large organisations are now required to have a Road Map to Zero Carbon in place. Many of our Clients have started this process at high level but now need to establish how this might be delivered. At GenNorth, we can help to establish a Carbon Baseline and then provide a detailed strategy to meet Carbon Zero deadlines. These strategies will provide multiple options to suit varying levels of investment, consolidation and future changes in technology or function.

‘Net Zero Carbon’ means different things to different people. It can just mean establishing a route to total elimination of building services related carbon emissions by a certain date or looking at all the scope 1 & 2 and some Scope 3 emissions for an organisation including staff and goods transportation emissions, materials & gasses used, building and production emissions, power and site waste strategies and even extend to third party organisations supplying goods and services.

In determining the best strategy, it is important to understand the condition and utilisation of the current building stock as
well as exactly where energy is used. Our experts will co-ordinate studies to establish the above and in conjunction
with available funding and decant of operations, optimum routes can be identified with high level costs attributed.

It is often not practical or affordable to eliminate carbon emissions and therefore methods of offsetting will also be evaluated and explained. We are also able to audit performance of a project, estate or organisation against an existing NZC Strategy.
